A 19-year-old boy has been arraigned by the police in Edo State for an alleged intent to commit felony in a part of the state.

The accused, Isaiah Tanko, was brought before Chief Magistrate, Mrs Esohen Ighodan of the Egor Magistrate’s Court on in Benin City.

Police prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Lucky, said the offence was committed on August 10, 2016 at No 22, 15 Street EDPA Estate, Ugbowo in Benin.

The police accused the suspect of picking up a handbag containing some valuable items in a RAV 4 Jeep with Registration No KWC 508 AA, belonging to Mr Akpe Ekene.

The prosecutor said that the Offence contravened section 509 of the Criminal Code.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to one count charge levied against him.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Esohen Ighodan, granted him bail in the sum of N20,000.

The accused person, who is said to be a son of a police officer, could be liable to seven years imprisonment if found guilty by the court.
