Ikeja Electric Introduces Meter Activation Tokens

One of the leading electricity distribution companies in Nigeria, Ikeja Electric Plc, has introduced activation tokens for newly acquired meters by customers under its coverage network.

The tokens, according to the company, is to enable the installed prepaid meters activated and this can be done effortlessly online by the customer.

Ikeja Electric explained in a message on Thursday that this initiative was “in line with our core values and objective of improving our customer service delivery.”

To obtain the activation tokens, customers would have to visit the website of Ikeja Electric on http://www.ikejaelectric.com/keychange/ and then type in their meter numbers to obtain the tokens.

Customer have been advised to simply follow these steps:

Log in to IE portal http://www.ikejaelectric.com/keychange/

Input your meter number.

Click the submit bottom.

Activation token will be displayed instantly.

*This can be done on your phone.

Concluding, the energy firm said, “Please note that if a token is not generated for your meter number this means that your meter installation hasn’t been certified by our Quality Assurance & Quality Control team.”

  1. What a useless service. You take money and you send an invalid token to people without any clue on what else to do. Your website never open, customer care never connect even email, no reply… what have we done to deserve this in this country.

  2. It is quite unfortunate that i have been parading your offices and sending several emails without any tangible result.. You gave me a new number 43021003843 since 27/06/2020 after the previous meter number 43012591376 was faulty. SR 1567955 was given to me after i was directed to fill another form and submit, which i have since done last week. Today 27/07/ 2020 another SR 1575227 was given again without solution to the problem of ACTIVATION needed..i have been without light since last week. Your service leaves much to desire. When do i expect prompt and desirable service from you? I cannot recharge just because someone refuses to generate activation token, what a disservice is that? You should know that you are not doing me a favor, I am paying for it, hence you need to do your work for the progress of your company.
