Electricity distribution companies (DisCos) in the country have announced a 1.31 per cent or N2.70 increase in tariff for customers on the Band A feeders.
The energy firms are expected to provide at least 20 hours of electricity to Band A customers daily, according to the service level agreement (SLA) between the DisCos and their customers.
In a notice on Wednesday, Ikeja Electric informed its customers that they would now pay N209.50 per kilowatt hour for electricity instead of the old rate of N206.80/kHh.
“Kindly note the review in tariff of Band A feeders from N206.80/kWh to N209.50/kWh effective July 1, 2024, in line with the service-based tariff regime.
“The tariff for Bands B, C, D and E remains unchanged.
“Our customers can rest assured that this development will further sustain the improved service delivery currently being experienced across all Feeder Bands within the Ikeja Electric network,” a statement signed by the management read.
Similarly, Kaduna Electric announced to its customers that the tariff for Band A customers have been hiked by N2.70 to N209.50/kWh from the previous rate.
