Thursday, September 27, 2018 has been announced as date for supplementary election for the governorship poll in Osun State.

On Saturday, September 22, 2018, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted an election, which was declared inconclusive the next day.

This was because the total number of votes declared invalid during the exercise were more than the margin between the two leading candidates in the poll, Mr Oyetola Gboyega of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Mr Ademola Adeleke of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

INEC said the re-run would be held in areas where the over 3,000 votes were voided, which involved four local governments.

Below is the breakdown

*CANCELLATIONS:*

(1) Orolu LG – 947 voters

(2) Ife South LG – 502 voters

(3) Ife North LG – 353 voters

(4) Osogbo LG – 884 voters

Total – 3,498
