Jonathan Attends First Council Of State Meeting

Immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, attended the Council of State meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

It was the first of such meeting for Mr Jonathan since handing over power to Mr Buhari on May 29, 2015.

But it was the second under the current dispensation. The first meeting was held on October 21, 2015.

Some of the past leaders present at Wednesday’s meeting were Abdulsalami Abubakar and Ernest Shonekan.

Others like like Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Shehu Shagari, Yakubu Gowon, Bukola Saraki (Senate President) and Yakubu Dogara (Reps’ Speaker) were not at the meeting when it started some minutes past 11am.

However, Governors of Rivers, Borno, Niger, Imo, Cross River, Taraba, Yobe, Benue, Bauchi, Enugu, Kwara, Adamawa, Abia, Sokoto, Kaduna, Lagos, Kogi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kebbi and Katsina were at the meeting.

NDLEA Seizes illicit Drugs Destined for Europe, UAE

By Adedapo Adesanya Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered illicit substances bound for Europe, the United Arab Emirates and Asia. Kwara Releases Details of November Allocation

According to figures released on Wednesday by the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, the State government received a total of N2, 233, 401, 908.90 as allocation for November.
