The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has noted that investment in network expansion remains steadfast and non-negotiable across its franchise distribution states.
This was made known by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.
He restated KEDCO’s commitment to continue investing in its network to improve service delivery to its numerous customers in its three covered states.
According to Mr Gwamna, Kano Electric prioritizes the satisfaction of its numerous customers and as a result, it has been working hard to ensure that they are serviced properly.
The energy distribution company’s chief said investment in network maintenance and expansion was for the good of customers and that it won’t relent on several efforts to guarantee quality service delivery.
He said a lot of investments in billions of naira had been put into the network and more would still be invested to upgrade and maintain the network.
Speaking on the ongoing mass metering, Mr Gwamna said the organisation was ramping up metering to ensure that all customers get metered going forward.
The CEO, who vowed to end estimated billing in the franchise states, appealed to customers to remain calm as KEDCO was partnering with the federal government to capture all the customers within the franchise areas.
“We are committed to ensuring the end of the estimated billing system in the Kano franchise and we will roll out more phases of metering going forward to complement the present phase.
“KEDCO also warns against meter apathy from customers because we have observed that some customers deliberately refuse to meter, this is unacceptable to us as metering is the way forward for Kano franchise,” he said.
Kano Electric is one of the 11 licensed distribution companies in the country and is responsible for distributing electricity to the North-Western states of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa.
