Kolawole Aliu, Others Pick Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting

A senior journalist with Leadership Newspaper, Mr Kolawole Aliu, has emerged one of the winners at the just-concluded Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting.

During the 13th edition of the prestigious awards ceremony held in Lagos at the weekend, Mr Aliu was named winner in the photography category of 2018 Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting.

The event, which was organised by the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), took place at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, with some personalities in attendance like ; professor of Mass Communication, Ralph Akinfeleye; human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana; Executive Director, Human and Environmental Development Agenda, Mr Lanre Suraj; Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Netherlands, Mr Michel Deelen, amongst others. Apart from Mr Aliu, other winners were Sharon Ijasa of Television Continental (TVC), who clinched the TV category; Mr Abdulaziz Abdulaziz of Premium Times, who became Investigative Reporter of the year; Mr Mojeed Alabi of New Telegraph, who picked winner of the print category; and Chinelo Ozoalor of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Enugu for the radio category.
