Residents of Lagos State have been advised to restrain their movements on the roads in view of the persistent rain of high intensity that commenced a few days ago.
The state government said residents of the state, especially those living close to the sea and other flood prone areas, should adhere strictly to regular warnings by the government.
The government noted that like every coastal city, Lagos is prone to flash floods when rain of such intensity is experienced.
It explained that this advice became necessary in order to avoid gridlock on the roads as a result of the temporary flash which will disappear over time.
The state government emphasised that on its part, it had cleared all our primary and secondary channels in order to ensure that flooding incidences are reduced to the barest minimum.
The various teams of the state emergency flood abatement department have been deployed to major highways to ensure that any crisis areas are desilted.
