The lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Tunde Braimoh, is dead.

News of his demise was announced on Friday morning. Until his death, he was the chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy in the state parliament.

Mr Braimoh had also served in the parliament as the chairman House Committee on Judiciary, Petitions and Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

He had also in his capacity serve as a one-time chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, now known as Ikosi-Isheri Local Council.

He was going to clock 60 in September. He is survived by his wife and children.

Mr Braimoh was from the same senatorial district as a late senator, Mr Bayo Osinowo, who represented Lagos East Senatorial District at the National Assembly until his death in June after contracting the COVID-19 virus.

Mr Osinowo had represented Kosofe Constituency 2 at the Lagos Assembly for more than three terms until his election into the Senate in 2019, replacing Mr Gbenga Ashafa.

It has not been disclosed if Mr Braimoh died of the coronavirus like Mr Osinowo.
