There was pandemonium on Monday at the National Assembly (NASS), when its Clerk, Mr Mohammed Shuaibu, went to the ground and gave up the ghost afterwards.
The incident left many at the Assembly complex perplexed and wondering how the hard working Mr Shuaibu would die just like that.
The incident reportedly occurred at about noon today and left some members of staff of the National Assembly demoralised.
It was gathered that the deceased slumped while walking on a staircase.
He was quickly rushed to the Assembly clinic, where he was later confirmed dead by the doctors on duty.
It was only a year ago Mr Shuaibu was deployed to the House Committee on Agricultural Production and Services, where he worked as a Clerk.
Chairman of the committee, Mr Mohammed Tahir Monguno, disclosed that the deceased returned to Abuja from Zaria on Sunday ahead of a meeting of the committee but died few minutes before the meeting.
Mr Shuaibu, whose remains have been taken to his hometown for burial, hailed from Zaria, Kaduna State.
