The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday announced 381 fresh cases of coronavirus in the country.
In its announcement last night, the agency said the new cases were reported in 18 of the 36 states of the federation.
Curiously, no case was recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja yesterday.
A breakdown of the new confirmed cases of COVID-19 showed that 183 persons tested positive for the disease in Lagos on Thursday.
The NCDC further said 55 cases were reported in Kano State yesterday, 44 cases were recorded in Jigawa State, 19 cases were from Zamfara State, while another 19 cases were in Bauchi State.
The agency further said on Thursday, Katsina State reported 11 cases, Borno State had 9 cases, Kwara State recorded 8 cases, Kaduna State had 7 cases, while Gombe State had 6 people testing positive for the virus.
Furthermore, Ogun State reported 5 cases, Sokoto State recorded 4 cases, Oyo State had 3 cases yesterday, Rivers State reported 3 cases, while Niger State had 2 cases, with Akwa Ibom, Enugu and Plateau States recorded one case each.
According to the NCDC, as at Thursday, May 7, 2020, there were a total of 3,526 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
The agency also said as at yesterday, the country has discharged 601 persons earlier infected with the virus, while 107 deaths have been recorded so far.
