Nigeria Reports 22 New Coronavirus Cases, Total Now 276

Twenty-two new cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) have been reported in Nigeria.

In its daily update, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that 15 of the new cases came from Lagos, while four were recorded in Abuja, two occurred in Bauchi and one in Edo.

According to the agency, as at 9pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, 44 persons, who once contracted the virus, have recovered and discharged from the various isolation centres in the country.

The NCDC also said so far, six deaths linked with Coronavirus have been recorded in Nigeria, while the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 276 with the latest addition.

A breakdown showed that out of the total cases in the country, 145 was recorded in Lagos, 54 in Abuja, 20 in Osun State, 12 in Edo State, 11 in Oyo State, eight in Bauchi State, five each from Akwa Ibom and Kaduna State, four in Ogun State, two each in Enugu, Ekiti and Rivers States, and one each in Benue, Delta, Kwara and Ondo States.
