Former Lagos State governorship aspirant, Mr Musiliu Obanikoro, has finally returned to Nigeria after being away for some months.

Mr Obanikoro arrived Nigeria on Monday morning from London.

Over a year ago, the former Minister of State for Defence travelled to the United States for an academic programme and after completing the course, he refused to return to Nigeria to answer corruption charges against him.

He was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegation of diverting money meant for the purchase of arms to fight terrorism in the last administration of President Goodluck Jonathan to prosecute the Ekiti governorship election, which produced Mr Ayodele Fayose as Governor.

Few months ago, precisely in July, men of the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed his Ikoyi, Lagos home and arrested his wife, Mrs Moroofat Omolola.

Mr Obanikoro reportedly returned to Nigeria after the anti-graft agency formally invited him and he is heading straight to the Abuja office of the agency.

Mr Obanikoro is accompanied to the EFCC office by his counsels; Mr Lawal Pedro (SAN) and Mr James Onoja (SAN).
