A notable philanthropist from Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, Mr Jude Ndudi Ozah, has donated no fewer than 10 patrol vehicles to the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

The items were given to the Delta Police Command by the High Chief on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in the presence of the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, HRM Obi Ifechukwude Aninshi Okonjo II, and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr Mohammed Ali.

A statement signed by the spokesperson to the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Prince Greg Okwumbu, disclosed that the monarch thanked the donor for the gesture, describing him as a pillar in the kingdom.

He explained how Mr Ozah was taking care of the sick, needy and the old in Ogwashi-Uku and also putting in place roads, boreholes, items for the community vigilante groups, palliatives for widows and underprivileged in the community.

The traditional ruler also commended the Inspector General and the Commissioner of Police in Delta State for the increased police visibility which is evidenced by the reduced crime rates within the state.

The police chief in the state, while receiving the donated 10 Hilux and other assorted patrol vehicles, commended the Ogwashi-Uku philanthropist, who is the Isagba of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom.

He also thanked the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku and his subject for a timely and wonderful contribution to policing in the state.

According to him, Mr Ozah may not be the richest man in Delta State but his call to duty and responsiveness to the needs of the police is simply wonderful.

He assured that the vehicles would be used to effectively combat crime in the state and ensure that the police can extend their reach even more.

The CP stated that after the #EndSARS protest in October 2020, he assumed the police will be treated as orphans but to his greatest delight, people like Mr Ozah have responded with strong support for the police.

In a related development, Mr Ozah also presented vehicles to the Chairman of the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Jude Chukwunweike for community vigilante services.
