A meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) is currently ongoing at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting is being presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari and it has in attendance the country’s service chiefs.
Specifically, those at the gathering include the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Muhammad Adamu; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral IE Ibas; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal SB Abubakar; the Chief of Defence Staff General, AG Olanisakin; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mr Babagana Monguno.
It is believed that during the meeting, the President and the security team will discuss the present security situation across the country, including the shooting of peaceful protesters in Lagos on Tuesday night by some soldiers.
