A member of the Osun State House of Assembly, representing Obokun State Constituency, Mr Bosun Otintiloye, has refurbished an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) belonging to the Nigeria Police Force.

The refurbished APC has now been presented to the police and stationed in the community with a view to providing adequate security in the area.

In 2015, Obokun community came under attacks from armed robbers, which consequently led to the closure of a Wema Bank branch there.

However, with the APC repaired the bank has announced resumption of its operations in Obokun.

Since Wema Bank shut down its branch in Obokun, residents of the community have had to travel to other towns to make bank transactions, which has brought untold hardship on them. But most of them have hailed the latest development.

They could not hide their joy when the APC was presented to the community by the lawmaker, who they showered praises on.

Mr Oyintiloye, while handing over the APC to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the town, Mr Durodola Taofeeq, noted that the reopening of the bank would boost commercial and economic activities in the community.
