In a bid to prevent a recurrence of plagiarism in presidential speeches, the presidency has disclosed that it would now install plagiarism detection software in computers of its speechwriters.

One of the media aides of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Garba Shehu, told Daily Trust that this move was to stop future embarrassments like the one caused by the President’s ‘Change Begins With Me’ speech delivered some days ago.

The presidency was forced to apologise for lifting a part of US President, Mr Barack Obama’s 2008 victory speech in the Mr Buhari’s speech without acknowledgment.

The presidency blamed a deputy director for the ‘crime’ and promised such would not happen again.

It was learnt that part of the efforts to stop this was to install the plagiarism detection software in computers of those who write speeches for the President.
