The chief executive of Caleb Group of Schools and Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, Mr Oladega Adebogun, has praised President Bola Tinubu for rehabilitating the Ikorodu-Imota-Itoikin-Epe Road, where the tertiary institution is located.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations for Caleb University, Mr Abimbola Olulesi, the frontline educationist the action of the federal government, led by Mr Tinubu, has renewed the hopes of residents of the area as well as commuters.
According to him, the Ikorodu-Imota-Itoikin-Epe Road was one of the worst in the country before it was repaired by the government recently.
Speaking at an interactive session over the weekend, Mr Adebogun thanked the President for his unwavering support and commitment towards the completion of the rehabilitation of the road, noting that it is a positive pointer and attestation to the fact that many more development projects promised by the government will be completed and delivered.
He noted that before now, the road usually gets abandoned during the rainy season and had posed a recurrent nightmare to residents and commuters along the axis from Ikorodu through Imota to Itoikin and beyond to Epe.
According to him, it was a particularly harrowing commute for road users during vacation and festive periods, but with its current state, residents of the area can heave a huge sigh of relief.
Mr Adebogun stated that the travel time from Ikorodu to Epe has been reduced from about two hours to less than thirty minutes since the project was completed in March 2024.
The founder of Caleb University also thanked the Minister of Works, Mr Dave Umahi; the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Mr Adetokunbo Abiru, for the various roles they played in the actualization of the rehabilitation of the road.
