The founder of Rock City FM, Mr Niran Malaolu, will join others to celebrate World Communications Day with the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

The veteran journalist is one of the two special guests of honour invited by the church alongside the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Mr Kayode Akinmade.

A statement from the worship centre disclosed that the Principal Programmer Systems Administrator for WAEC National Head Office in Lagos, Mr Adelodun Oluwafemi, is the guest speaker for the one-day symposium at St Peter and Paul Cathedral, Itesi, Adatan Road, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

To be on the panel at the event themed Artificial Intelligence and The Wisdom of The Heart: Towards Fully Human Communication are the chief executive of ABT Tech, Mr Abiodun Atobatele; the Group Head of Information Systems Controls at Fidelity Bank, Mr Peter Arabomen; and the Director of Social Communications Directorate for Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, Rev. Fr. Gregory Fadele.

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, Most Rev. Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo, while commenting on the forthcoming programme, said the World Communications Day would be dedicated to further the work of evangelism, stating that the Holy Father, Pope Francis, the Head of the Catholic Church is concerned about the influence of Artificial Intelligence and as such has issued a message to the world on this year’s celebration.

Rapporteurs for the Symposium which will kick off immediately after 10 am Mass are Mr Thomas Imonikhe, a veteran journalist with The Champion Newspapers and Mr Olanrewaju John also a seasoned journalist with The Punch Newspapers.
