The premises of the Lagos State House of Assembly have been taken over by some security operatives believed to be from the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force )NPF).

It was gathered that men of the two security agencies were at the assembly complex in the early hours of Monday to seal the offices of the Speaker, Mrs Mojisola Meranda, her deputy and clerk.

Recall that last month, lawmakers of the Lagos State parliament removed Mr Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker while he was in the United States.

After he returned a few weeks ago, he informed his supporters that he was still in charge. He, thereafter, instituted a legal action against the Lagos Assembly, seeking his reinstatement.

It was reported some days ago that President Bola Tinubu directed the Governor Advisory Council (GAC) of Lagos State to return Mr Obasa to his position, but this was not done.

It was argued that asking Mrs Meranda to resign from the position for Mr Obasa to return could spell doom for lawmakers who impeached him from office.
