Violence erupted again on Saturday in the Kaduna metropolis between some youths and Shiites members, with two persons believed to have died.

It was learnt that trouble started on Saturday when members of the group attempted to rebuild their centre, which was destroyed on Wednesday.

But in the process, reports say, the youths attacked the Shiite members with clubs and knives, injuring a few of them in the process.

Saturday’s incident reportedly occurred in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna.

Shiites are members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, which has its root in Iran.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, no fewer than four persons were feared dead in a similar clash.

A statement issued by spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command, Mr Aliyu Usman, said no one died in Saturday’s clash, but two persons were said to have sustained injuries and were receiving treatment at the hospital.
