The distribution of palliatives in all the local government areas of Lagos State by the convener of Arise Women Conference, Mrs Siju Iluyomade, has commenced.
The palliatives tagged Arise Pink Bucket contain major food items like rice, spaghetti, sugar, toothpaste, flour, seasonings, groundnut oil and a few others.
“We have started distributing the Arise Pink Bucket palliatives in Surulere and Lagos Island. This will go on to other councils in the state.
“This is part of Arise intervention for the country during this period, apart from the one we did at the peak of COVID-19 for Lagos State government,” the lawyer of more than 35 years of experience said.
Recall that at the 2020 edition of the Arise Women Conference in Lagos, Mrs Iluyomade disclosed this was part of her organisation’s efforts to bring succour to residents of the state.
The event specifically took place on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the AstroTurf Compound of City of David, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Oniru, Lagos, amidst pomp and pageantry despite the threat of COVID-19.
The conference, which had several dignitaries in attendance, was themed #DEEPLYROOTED# and it was the 12th edition.
Some of the personalities at the programme were the Chairman of Access Bank Plc, Dr Ajoritsedere Awosika; the CEO of Emzor Pharmaceutical, Mrs Stella Okoli; the Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Professor, Akin Abayomi; the Commissioner for Health in Ogun State, Ms Tomi Coker, amongst many others.
The guests did not mince words in speaking glowingly about the convener and one of them, Mrs Awosika, commended her for sticking out her neck to inspire and empower the less privileged in the country through many interventions of Arise Women Foundation.
The conference is usually followed by empowerment programmes and support to hospitals, schools IT centres and many more. This year was not an exception.
