Organisers have confirmed that Managing Director of Unity Bank, Mrs Tomi Somefun, will be giving the keynote address at the Light House Women’s Network conference taking place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos from 10am to 1pm.

Mrs Somefun will address participants on the theme of the programme, Views from the Other Side; Women and the Career Ladder.

Other speakers joining the respected banker are Mr Obinnia Abajue, Mr Amaechi Okobi, Mr Adebola Williams and Mr Osisiye Tafa.

Mrs Somefun is an accomplished Financial Services professional with over three decades of hands-on experience spanning Commercial and Investment Banking, Financial and Business Consulting, Audit and Accounting Services.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), she graduated from the Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly University of Ife) in 1981 with a Bachelor of Education in English Language, and later trained and worked with KPMG as a Chartered Accountant.

She has benefited from several Executive Trainings Management Programs at Harvard Business School, Wharton Business School, and University of Columbia Business School; amongst others.

Prior to her appointment as Managing Director of Unity Bank, she served as the Executive Director overseeing the Lagos and South-West Business Directorate, as well as the Financial Institution Division and Treasury Department of the bank.

Mrs Somefun was the Managing Director of UBA Capital & Trust Ltd from 2004 to 2005 and the founding Managing Director/CEO of UBA Pension Custodian Ltd in 2005.

She is passionate about people, especially young adults and helping them achieve their God-given potential in spite of their limitations, mentoring and counselling individuals in their professional and social development.

She sits on the boards of a number of financial and education institutions, and has served on many advisory boards.

Nigeria’s Inflation Rises to 11.23% in August after 18th Consecutive Decline
