Ahead of the November 16 governorship elections scheduled to hold in Bayelsa and Kogi States, the country’s main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has said it will floor its main rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in both elections.
This was revealed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, during a media parley, stating that despite not being the party in majority, it considered Bayelsa a PDP stronghold and said that Governor Seriake Dickson had delivered the promised dividends of democracy and good governance.
He said, “Bayelsa is the traditional home of the PDP, we are in democracy so the APC has right to run an election, but there is no way that Bayelsan will vote for the APC. Bayesians will not do that.”
He also said the party was looking to reclaim Kogi State from the ruling APC as he alleged that the state governor, Mr Yahaya Bello, had lost the mandate of the people of Kogi State through lack of development, hardship, and insecurity.
“In Kogi, we advise Governor Bello to begin to write his handover note because the PDP will remove the incumbent, Bello. Kogi people for your information cannot be bought with money.”
