A medical item has been donated to the General Hospital Ikorodu, Lagos State by AXA Mansard Health Limited, a member of the AXA Group.

The healthcare facility was given a digital ultra-scan machine by the insurer as part of its effort to ensure quality healthcare is accessible and affordable across the country.

The reputable health insurance company, while presenting the equipment by its chief executive, Mr Tope Adeniyi, said it is the first in the series of medical equipment donations planned for government hospitals across the country.

Mr Adeniyi said the decision to embark on these donations stems from the organisation’s continued commitment to acting for human progress by protecting what matters.

According to him, AXA Mansard Health understands that healthcare is crucial for its message and innovative work on wellness to resonate.

“So our presence here and this donation is another step in making good on our purpose and the promise of wellvolution we made last year, during our 10th anniversary.

“We don’t want wellness to be about just our customers alone; we want it to be accessible, affordable, and available to everyone. So, we are delighted to begin with General Hospital Ikorodu,” he said.

Mr Adeniyi said the choice of General Hospital Ikorodu reflects the excellent work the hospital has been doing over the past 40 years, explaining that such equipment as the digital ultra-scan machine will go a long way in improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Reacting to the donation, Deputy Medical Director of Ikorodu General Hospital, Dr Nurudeen Onaolapo, thanked AXA for the donation, noting that it will contribute to the treatment and improve the well-being of the over 40,000 patients that the hospital cares for monthly.

He said the hospital will remain committed to quality care for its patients, and with support from stakeholders like AXA Mansard, the hospital’s goal to become a one-stop shop for healthcare requirements within Ikorodu and its environs will be achieved faster.
