Iyalode Alaba Lawson has been installed as the first female National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
Lawson’s investiture was held on Thursday at a ceremony this week in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital and was attended by different personalities in Nigeria.
The occasion was graced by wife of the Acting President of Nigeria, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo; Ogun State Governor, Mr Ibikunle Amosun; Jigawa State Governor, Mr Mohammed Badaru Abubakar; wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Olufunso Amosun; the immediate past President of NACCIMA, Mr Bassey Edem; among others.
Apart from being the first female president of the body, she is the 19th National President of NACCIMA.
Speaking at the event, Governor Amosun described Iyalode Lawson as a woman of many parts who will do a marvellous job of her new role as NACCIMA President.
On her part, Mrs Osinbajo called on the new NACCIMA President to use her office to see to the empowerment of the womenfolk in Nigeria.
In her remarks, Lawson promised to take NACCIMA to greater heights.
