The Presidency has denied not following due process in the dismissal of former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Force, Mr Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, from the federal civil service.
In a series of tweets, the Presidency described such reports as “incorrect,” noting that the appropriate agencies were involved in the sack.
Mr Maina was sack yesterday after public outcry over his secret reinstatement into the service by the Federal Government, having been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for pension fraud allegations.
“Reports that due process was not followed in the disengagement of Mr Maina from the service are incorrect.
“The President directed the appropriate authorities to effect the disengagement in compliance with due process.
“President Muhammadu Buhari will continue to ensure that due process is followed every step of the way,” the Presidency said.
Mr Maina was earlier sacked by the past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, but was reinstated by this government without keeping a date with the EFCC, which had before now declared him wanted.
