National Career Fair Unveils #BeLike Campaign

Image

Belike campaign

In line with the annual capacity building agenda of the annual National Career Fair, which aims to reduce the alarming rate of unemployment in Nigeria, the organizers of the programme have launched career development initiative tagged #BELIKE.

The initiative was borne out of the realization that the dearth of career role models and the distinct absence of structured direct mentorship are some of the biggest challenges facing young people aiming to succeed in their chosen careers.

Young people have continually looked up to the same set of elite Nigerians in various careers for many years and the likes of Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Mike Adenuga to mention a few, have enjoyed the monopoly of being regarded as the barometers for success.

But the important question for students and young people at this moment is why #BELIKE these few tycoons when you can actually #BELIKE the new career role models who are smart, driven individuals that have created job opportunities in various professions and is no doubt a source of inspiration to students and young people in general due to the challenges they faced on their path to success.

A few of them have been projected on the National Career Fair’s #BELIKE platform.

By projecting these role models, the #BELIKE campaign platform aims to show young people that success can be achieved with the right guidance from successful people in their chosen careers and direct mentorship along professional lines. With the current economic climate in the country, there is no better time for young people to get inspired. #BELIKE

Christianity, Unanswered Prayers, Lessons, or Faith

By Nneka Okumazie Maybe the standard human measure for answered prayer is so inaccurate that many think the fervent prayers of the righteous are to no avail. Maybe using physical proportionality to assume spiritual effectiveness is the great misunderstanding against the Christian faith. Many think that for the righteous to pray for X, and not receive X at a certain time, means prayers don’t work. Prayers work, all the time, at least for those the Lord hears. The answer may not always be what was extrapolated, but it was advised to always pray. So, if the Lord says His people

What is, however, uncertain to Deltans and the watching world is whose interest the bill, if passed, is meant to serve or protect. There is also the concern as to whether it will herald into the political geography called Delta state, a just or an unjust law. As we are now, a just law is ‘a man-made code that squares with moral laws
