Nwuneli Leaves Nestle Nigeria Board

An independent non-executive director on the board of directors of Nestle Nigeria Plc, Mrs Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, has tendered her resignation.

A notice from the company on Tuesday explained that Mrs Nwuneli resigned from the board because of her ongoing fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Mrs Nwuneli, whose resignation was accepted by the board, was appointed as an independent non-executive director of Nestle Nigeria in February 2014.

During her time, she contributed to the success story of the company, which is one of the leading makers of beverages and household items in the country.

According to the disclosure today, the resignation of Mrs Nwuneli was effective October 20, 2019 and the board has wished her well for her contribution to the growth of Nestle Nigeria.

“This is to inform you of the change to the board of directors of Nestle Nigeria Plc effective October 20, 2019.

“Mrs Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli, an independent non-executive director of Nestle Nigeria Plc, has by a letter dated October 20, 2019 informed the board of her decision to resign as a director of the company effective from that date, due to her ongoing fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School.

“At the board meeting held on October 29, 2019, the board thanked Mrs Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli for her contribution to the growth of the company since her appointment to the board in February 2014 and accepted her decision,” the statement released to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) said.
