Rite Foods Promotes Onijingin to Chief Operating Officer

The Head of Human Resources and Administration at Rite Foods Limited, Mr Kehinde Onijingin, has been promoted to the position of the Chief Operating Officer of the organisation.

The elevation of Mr Onijingin, who in 2013 bagged a PhD in Human Resource Management, specialising in Knowledge Management, is to boost the operations of the organisation.

In his new role, he is expected to bring his wealth of expertise to further strengthen the company’s position as the market leader in the food and beverage industry.

Rite Foods is the pacesetter in the food and beverage industry of Africa’s largest economy with an unparalleled brand portfolio, comprising the award-winning Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink with its 13 variants, the premium Bigi Table Water, Fearless Energy Drink, the Sosa Fruit Drink with five flavours, as well as the Bigi and Rite Sausages.

The Chairman of Rite Foods, Mr Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, has expressed optimism in the appointment of Mr Onijingin, who he described as a round peg in a round hole and the right person for the position, having demonstrated exceptional brilliance in his previous role.

The appointee, as a result of his interest in business strategy, obtained a second Doctorate Degree in Strategic Management in April 2017, from Babcock University, in Ogun State. He is also a Certified Balanced Scorecard Professional from George Washington University, in the United States of America, and Balanced Scorecard Institute in West Africa.

He is a seasoned professional with over 21 years of experience in human resources and strategy and has played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization. With over 15 years of leadership experience in both the manufacturing and financial services sectors, he has consistently made significant contributions to these industries.

Mr Onijingin, whose appointment takes effect from November 1, 2023, assumed his current role on October 2, 2019, providing valuable ideas that have helped the firm succeed.

Before joining Rite Foods, he was Head of Human Resources and Administration at Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, having held various leadership positions in the company and also as a member of the management team leading the business strategy for growth purposes.
