Tinubu Constitutes New NDDC Board, Names Ebie Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management team for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) more than two months after the last board was dissolved.

In a statement signed by Mr Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Tuesday evening, the President approved the 17-man board and management team.

The team will be led by Mr Chiedu Ebie as Chairman (Delta), while Mr Samuel Ogbuku (Bayelsa) will continue as the Managing Director/CEO.

The Executive Directors include Mr Boma Iyaye – Executive Director (Finance and Admin) – Rivers; Mr Victor Antai – Executive Director (Projects) – Akwa-Ibom; and Mr Ifedayo Abegunde – Executive Director (Corporate Services) – Ondo.

Others are Mr Dimaro Denyanbofa – State Representative – Bayelsa; Mr Abasi Ndikan Nkono – State Representative – Akwa Ibom; Mr Monday Igbuya – State Representative – Delta; Mr Tony Okocha – State Representative – Rivers; Mr Patrick Aisowieren – State Representative – Edo; and Mr Kyrian Uchegbu – State Representative – Imo.

Others include Mr Victor Kolade Akinjo – State Representative – Ondo; Mr Dimgba Eruba – State Representative – Abia; Mr Asu Oku Okang – State Representative – Cross River; Mr Nick Wende – Zonal Representative – North Central; Mr Namdas Abdulrazak – Zonal Representative – North East; and Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir – Zonal Representative – North West.

Recall that Mr Tinubu in June dissolved the boards of all federal parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned companies.

“In view of this development and until such a time new boards are constituted, the Chief Executive Officers of the Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-Owned Companies are directed to refer matters requiring the attention of their Boards to the President, through the Permanent Secretaries of their respective supervisory Ministries and Offices,” said the statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation which announced the dissolution of the board.

In line with the directive from the presidency, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Shuaib Belgore, whose ministry oversees the activities of the NDDC, directed M Ogbuku, the current MD of the commission to continue as the commission’s chief executive until a new board is constituted.

“The President expects that the new Board and Management team will ensure a new era of successful administration in the NDDC, in line with his Renewed Hope agenda,” the latest statement said, adding that the appointments take effect immediately.

Nigeria Now Generates 7001MW of Electricity—Fashola
