Mr Johnson Lebile has been chosen to become the next Secretary/Legal Adviser of Wema Bank Plc with effective from Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
This was disclosed by the financial institution in a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday.
According to Wema Bank, the position became vacant following the redeployment of the incumbent to head the Lagos Business Group after nine years of excellent stewardship.
Prior to this appointment, Mr Lebile was the Head of Legal Services Department of Wema Bank Plc, a role he held since 2009.
The new scribe is a thoroughbred professional with over 18 years’ experience in legal practice spanning various sectors, banking and financial services being the most prominent.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in September 1999 and has a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka Lagos.
In his years of practicing as a lawyer, Mr Lebile has garnered exposures both locally and internationally from attending several trainings and workshops, including the recently concluded Company Secretary Master Class at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies in Nairobi, Kenya and belongs to several professional associations including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
