A music enthusiast, Mr Akinwale Ademokoya, has floated a record label aimed to hone the talents of young artistes in Nigeria and around the world in order to make them superstars.
A statement from his representatives said the name of the label launched by this Ibadan-born Ilesha, Osun State indigene is AKAD Records.
The Nigerian entrepreneur and social activist said he intends to use AKAD Records to discover dedicated music talents from across the globe. He will also use his experience and expertise of the industry and that of his team to support and promote the artistes.
Already, the company has signed its first act known as Lil Dee and there are plans to bring in the hottest producers around. The new artiste has set the ball rolling with the release of a new single titled OWO featuring Jaywon.
As a management company, AKAD Records said it will make its mark in West, East, and South Africa through their proposed offices in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to Mr Ademokoya, “With the launch of AKAD Records, we are now positioned as a uniquely Pan-African label,” adding that, “We will coordinate releases to synchronize in unison from Lagos to Lesotho and from Nairobi to Niamey.”
“I am excited to make a movement that is borderless and that exports Africa’s best talents to the world,” he further said, noting that, “The world is about to experience a new superpower.”
Expressing his excitement about the company, Mr Ademokoya said this is a long-time dream come through.
“This is something I have been excited about for a long time,” he said. “We are joining forces with some international players in the industry who are already doing it big and we will keep pushing to make beautiful music.”
“At AKAD Records, we believe in dreams, we believe in success, we believe in greatness, together [We Own the City],” he said.
