Basketmouth to Beat Last Closing Gong for 2019 at NSE

Ace comedian, Mr Bright Okpocha, otherwise known as Basketmouth, will close the last trading day for 2019 on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

The humourist has been invited by the management of the stock exchange to beat the last closing gong today, Tuesday, December 31, 2019 in recognition of his contribution of the nation’s economy.

A notice from the NSE stated that the comedian “will be visiting the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday 31, December 2019 to be honoured as the last day of trading guest for the year (2019). He will be closing the market for the year with a Closing Gong Ceremony.”

Basketmouth is one of the top comedians in Nigeria and commands large following. He is a brand ambassador for different brands and has organised popular stand-up comedy concerts like Basketmouth Uncensored across the globe.

He had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos before moving to Edo State for his tertiary education at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), where he studied Sociology and Anthropology.

Regularly, the Nigerian stock exchange brings important guests to beat the closing gong as a way of honouring them for their contributions to the country’s economy. These people are drawn from different walks of life.
