“He was not happy when he heard of your health status and that was why he asked us to locate you, know your status and present you this [cash] to support your [medical] bills,” Mr Ojo Lanre told Fadeyi Oloro.

He assured the thespian of further support from the Governor.

In his remarks, Fadeyi Oloro thanked the Governor for finding it worthy to visit and support him in this trying period of his.

Narrating his ordeal, Fadeyi Oloro said, “The ailment started in February this year, when I was diagnosed of tuberculosis and later prostate related diseases.

“I would have been dead by now because the doctor was not sure whether I would survive when they took me to the hospital, but God gave me a second chance and I thank him for it.”

The actor commended Mrs Joe Odumakin, who he described as “an Angel sent by God to save me from untimely death,” saying that the human rights activist and her team have been doing a wonderful work.

“She is a great woman whose contribution to my being alive today cannot be quantified. I will never forget in my life how she has helped me and also solici support for me,” he added.

Also speaking during the visit, Mrs Odumakin, who is the founder of Women Arise, a human rights organisation, lauded Governor Fayemi for his genuine passion in caring for the well-being of his people

According to her, Mr Fayemi has “demonstrated exemplary virtue with this gesture and I am indeed happy and grateful to him.”
