A group of makeup artists in Lagos has launched the Makeup Guild of Nigeria (MAGN), Business Post has gathered.
Information made available to us revealed that the guild was officially unveiled on Tuesday (yesterday) and the ceremony was attended by some notable practitioners in the industry.
In recent times, the beauty industry has recorded a rapid growth especially with the effort of Tara Fela-Durotoye, who made the profession very attractive.
Today, many youths travel abroad to receive training on the latest trends in the beauty industry. In Nigeria, there are also many training academies where youths are tutored on the latest makeup techniques.
Our correspondent gathered that MAGN was formed to ensure credibility and quality from practitioners.
Leaders of the guild disclosed that the main aim is to be an authoritative voice, promoting integrity and high standards with thin the beauty industry.
“Our mission is to establish & promote integrity, and raise a high standard with our industry through the active participation of the member by offering a suite of benefits that will enhance their various enterprises.
“Members will get a profile page, stay abreast of all the info in the industry, partnerships and sponsorships and more,” they said.
The guild has also launched its website, http://makeupartistguild.com.ng, for projecting its activities to the world.
