Nigerians who love to watch movies and others on the popular video-streaming platform, Netflix, will have to cough out more money monthly.
This is because the company has increased its subscriptions across the packages, with the famous bouquet among Nigerian users, the Standard Plan, going up to N5,500 per month from the previous N4,000.
For Premium Plan customers, they will have to pay N7,000 per month to use the platform for exciting programmes instead of the previous N5,000 per month.
The latest increment is coming less than four months after Netflix hiked its subscriptions amid soaring inflation and declining purchasing power in Nigeria due to the economic downturn.
The last increase by the company was in April 2024 and it is happening as Nigerians are battling with higher subscriptions for the popular pay-TV platform, MultiChoice, owners of DStv and GOtv.
Business Post reports that Netflix also raised subscriptions for its Basic Plan users to N3,500 per month from N2,900 per month, while the Mobile Plan was jacked up to N2,200 from N1,200.
