Nigerian Actor Elder Maya Dies

A veteran actor in Nigeria, Mr Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya, has been reported dead.

News of his demise filtered in on Friday night.

Elder Maya reportedly died after months of battling with a liver-related ailment.

A Yoruba actor, Mr Yomi Fabiyi, on Friday night, announced the death of the veteran actor, who mostly acted as traditional chief priest in movies.

Another actor, Ms Aniebiet Udofia, who is the Chairperson of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Cross River State chapter, also announced the demise of Elder Maya on Friday night.

His death comes months after he was reported sick and need financial help because his family had almost exhausted their savings on his treatment.
