A Nigerian movie star, Junior Pope, has died after he was involved in a boat accident in Asaba, Delta State on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
The Delta State Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Mr Emma Onyemeziem, who confirmed the unfortunate incident to newsmen, said the remains of the actor have been deposited in the morgue.
Business Post gathered that the boat mishap also claimed the lives of three other persons with Junior Pope today during a film production.
The four persons were said to have drowned when the boat capsized, but the body of the 39-year-old Nollywood star was recovered and was pronounced dead by a doctor when he was taken to the hospital after the accident.
In 2014, Junior Pope married Jennifer Awele Okpuno and the marriage has produced children.
