Veteran Actor Adebayo Faleti Dies at 86

A Nigerian actor, Mr Adebayo Faleti, has been reported dead after spending 86 years on the face of the earth.

The veteran actor breathed his last in the early hours of Sunday, July 23, 2017, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mr Faleti, a notable broadcaster in Nigeria, acted in several movies including Afonja, and was a pioneer staff of the first television station in Nigeria, Western Nigeria Television (WNTV).

He famously translated Nigeria’s national anthem from English to Yoruba and worked as a teacher at Ife Odan, located near Ejibo Town.

The deceased was also the General Manager of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), also known as Radio Oyo.

Apart from the movie ‘Afonja’ that he acted, Mr Faleti starred in Thunderbolt: Magun (2001), Basorun Gaa (2004), and Sawo-Segeri (2005), among others.

Nigeria Halts Acceptance of University Degrees from Benin, Togo

Local Stock Market Further Trends Downward by 0.11%

Nigeria Changes Fixed-Lines Numbering Format

By Adedapo Adesanya The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) changed the numbering format for fixed lines from January 1 next year. The agency said the fixed-lines numbering format will no longer be eight digits but would be 10 digits, with the addition of the 02 prefix before the existing fixed number. This change is totally different to the existing mobile numbering format. FAAC Disburses N1.2trn to FG, States, Councils for February Allocation

Naira Falls at NAFEX, Parallel Market as Govt Battles Speculators

Oil Prices Up as Houthis Intensify Attacks in Trading Sea Routes
