The duo of Victory Gbakara and Precious Mac have made it to the finals of Nigerian Idol Season 8 after the eviction of Quest on Sunday night.

Quest was evicted from the show yesterday after garnering the lowest votes from viewers of the prestigious music talent programme sponsored by Tecno and Bigi.

The two finalists will now hope to win the show on Sunday, July 16, 2023, to succeed Progress, who won the last edition held in 2022.

The host of the programme, IK Osakioduwa, announced on Sunday that the two budding singers in the final of the competition secured more votes from viewers than Quest.

As revealed by him, 32 million votes were received for the week, adding that 132 million votes were cast so far in the season.

“I’m super grateful to everybody that believed in me. I appreciate the opportunity to be on this platform. There will be great things coming from me in the near future,” Quest commented after she was shown the way out.

Osakioduwa also announced that the final week’s voting period has been extended. According to him, the voting channels are now open for viewers to vote until 9pm on Friday.

Viewers can vote for their favourite contestant on the Africa Magic website, the mobile site and MyDStv or MyGOtv app.

In Nigeria, for instance, MultiChoice plays a pivotal role in empowering talent and driving economic development.
