The prestigious GOtv Boxing Night scheduled for Sunday, September 24, 2023, is already gathering momentum, and the competitors are threatening fire and fury.

A welterweight boxer making his return to the contest, Taiwo Gentle Boy Olowu, speaking ahead of the event, has vowed to floor his rival, Ganiyu Energy Kolawole.

He revealed that both of them have a score to settle, stressing that he is ungentlemanly ready to punch down Energy this time.

“We fought each other earlier this year at Police College, which I won by majority decision. I am in top shape, and this time, I will floor him. I will decide this the knockout way and save the judges the stress,” Olowu, who will trade punches with Energy in a welterweight national challenge in a few weeks’ time, said.

The bout will take place at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Olowu won 15 and lost two of his 17 professional fights, with a record of nine knockouts. In 2021, he defeated I-Star Chukwudi at the GOtv Boxing Night.

The forthcoming boxing competition will also feature five additional bouts in different weight categories, including a national female cruiserweight title bout between Celina Pretty Assassin Agwu and Bolatito Black Tito Oluwole.

Sodiq Happy Boy Adeleke will take on Ibrahim Golden Boy Opeyemi, SifonBest Iwatt will battle Yusuf Omowest Mohammed in the super flyweight category, while Azeez Latest Ayobami and Emmanuel Ability Abimbola will face off in a national lightweight challenge bout.

GOtv Boxing Night will broadcast live on SuperSport Variety 4 (DStv channel 209) and SuperSport Select 2 (GOtv channel 64 Channel).
