Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, has been named on Friday as the Young Player of the Year for the just concluded Premier League season.
The Tag Hauer Premier League Young Player of the season was launched this season to celebrate the Premier League’s prodigious talents.
Trent had been pitched against several Premier League youngsters who all enjoyed fine outings in the English football season.
The 21-year-old beat Manchester United trio of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood for the Young Player award along with Chelsea duo of Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic.
Also, in contention were Aston Villa skipper, Jack Grealish and Sheffield United’s shot-stopper, Dean Henderson who inspired the Premier League’s new boys to a top-half finish.
The right full-back player of The Reds finished the season with 13 assists and four goals, coming second only to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, who registered 20 on the assists chart.
He has also been nominated for the Player of the Season award.
The England international has been topped to become one of the world’s best players in the future by Brazil, Roma and AC Milan legend, Cafu.
Alexander-Arnold made his Liverpool breakthrough in 2016-17 season and has made so far had 134 appearances in all competitions. As well as the Premier League crown, he has won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the Anfield side.
