American streaming platform, Netflix, has secured exclusive broadcast rights to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with the service set to show every match of the tournament live for millions around the world.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Netflix in a statement published on its Tudum platform, confirming that its coverage will include pre-match, half-time and post-match programmes, a daily highlights show on match days and additional content ahead of the competition.

The tournament, which will mark the centenary of the FIFA World Cup, is scheduled to begin on June 8, 2030, and conclude on July 21, 2030.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will jointly host the competition, while Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will stage centenary celebration matches to commemorate the inaugural tournament held in 1930.

Netflix Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, said the partnership would bring the tournament to fans across Spain and Andorra as Spain prepares to host the competition.

“Few events unite people like the World Cup,” Bajaria said, adding that the tournament’s passion, pride and stories become part of national culture and are remembered for generations.

FIFA Secretary-General, Mr Mattias Grafström, said the organisation was pleased to build on its partnership with Netflix, expressing confidence that the collaboration would bring fans closer to the game and expand access to the competition.

The agreement adds to Netflix’s growing involvement in live sports broadcasting and extends its partnership with FIFA beyond the men’s tournament.

The streaming platform will also hold exclusive rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027 and 2031.

Coverage of the women’s tournaments will include English- and Spanish-language broadcasts in the United States, as well as English- and French-language broadcasts in Canada. Netflix is also scheduled to broadcast the final draw for the 2027 Women’s World Cup on December 11, 2026.

The 2030 edition will be the first World Cup to mark 100 years since the inaugural tournament in Uruguay in 1930, which was won by the host nation.
