Leading online sports media and entertainment brand, Sporty.com, has sealed a deal with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to simulcast its free-to-air premium sports contents.

The pioneering arrangement was brokered by Integral, the rights holder of notable sports media rights, including the free-to-air Premier League matches.

The deal has made Sporty.com the official simulcast platform for NTA’s broadcast of its sports portfolio. In other words, Nigerian-based users of Sporty.com will now be able to watch a simulcast of NTA’s exciting sports programs.

NTA currently broadcasts top-flight 3 p.m. English Premier League (EPL) matches each game week, and weekly Premier League shows; Preview and Review shows and Premier League World.

With the new partnership, NTA coverage, as the partner of Integral for its EPL media rights, will now be available to Sporty.com Nigerian users.

Speaking on the deal, the Director-General of NTA, Mr Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, said, “NTA is pleased to be a part of this innovation secured by Integral, to provide football and sports-loving Nigerians with a new platform to watch their favourite sports teams. We look forward to working with Sporty.com to deliver the best quality football content.”

Expressing excitement over the partnership, the Brand Director of Sporty.com, Mr Oluchi Enuha, added that the steaming will include many sports such as the English Premier League live matches and weekly shows.

He said, “We are delighted to connect Nigeria-based football fans with exciting football content they love.”

In the view of Integral’s Managing Director, Mr Abimbola Ilo, the move will maximize the exposure of exciting football content to passionate Nigerian fans.

“As rights holder of the Premier League free-to-air broadcast in Nigeria, Integral is committed to bringing the Premier League closer to its fans in Nigeria.

“With this deal, having Sporty.com as the simulcast platform for NTA’s sports content, it is guaranteed to maximize the exposure of exciting football content to passionate Nigerian fans,” Mr Ilo said.
