Union Bank’s Edu360 Sustains Support for Greensprings Football Academy

By Aduragbemi Omiyale
Union Bank of Nigeria has again demonstrated its commitment to youth development and quality education with the sponsorship of the 11th Greensprings Football Academy held between April 13 and 17, 2025, at the school’s campus in Lagos.
The five-day training camp provided an opportunity for children aged 5 to 17 to receive expert coaching from top international coaches affiliated with the West Bromwich Albion Football Club, Dutch Football Association and the English Football League (EFL), alongside support from coaches from the Lagos State Football Association and Nigerian football legend, Mr Victor Ikpeba, fondly called The Prince of Monaco.
The bank threw its weight behind the academy through its Edu360 initiative designed to fuel future stars in the country and foster youth development and quality education through initiatives like the GreenSprings Football Academy.
The Greensprings Football Academy has a proven record of producing professional players, with some graduates playing for the Under-17 National Team of Nigeria.
This year, the top students, Alabi Aliami and Ayodeji Boluwatife, were awarded additional virtual training sessions with the coaches, amongst other benefits.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, which witnessed notable guests from the football community, including Lagos State FA Chairman, Mr Laimeed Gafar, with Samuel Jake Whitmore, Jordan Hall and Owen Jones, West Bromwich Albion coaches, the Lead External Communications for Union Bank, Bukola Ayeni, said, “Union Bank is a sponsor in the Greenspring Football Academy under our Edu360 initiative, which aligns with one of our core values of being community focused.
“Edu360 is the bank’s initiative to promote quality education, whether formal or informal, which includes sports and supports SDG 4 on Quality Education.
“With 108 years of legacy of being Nigeria’s most reliable and trusted partner, the bank’s Edu360 Initiative demonstrates our unwavering commitment to investing in the leaders of today and tomorrow.”
Also, the chief executive of Greensprings School, Mrs Lai Koiki, said, “We are being future-ready, we are preparing the youth for the future for football and leadership.”

WWE WrestleMania Rewind: Unfinished Business When Legends Collide and History Refuses to Die

WrestleMania isn’t just an event. It’s a battleground where legacies are forged in sweat, blood, and unforgettable moments. And in WrestleMania Rewind: Unfinished Business, GOtv takes you back to one of the most intense rivalries in WWE history: The showdown between The Undertaker and Triple H.
This wasn’t just a match. It was a reckoning of two icons who refused to walk away. Two warriors who had nothing left to prove but one last thing to settle. For Triple H, it was personal. For The Undertaker, it was legacy. For fans around the world, it was the kind of clash that left us breathless.
It all began with Shawn Michaels, Mr. WrestleMania himself. He gave everything he had to defeat The Undertaker. Twice, he stepped up. Twice, he fell. The second time cost him his career. That heartbreak became a burden Triple H could not shake off. It was no longer about titles or championships. It was about redemption, about pride, and about brotherhood.
Triple H made it clear when he stepped into the ring. He was not just fighting for himself; he was fighting for Shawn. And if Shawn could not break the streak, then he would. What followed was a war between respect and retribution, between immortality and the desperate pull of unfinished business.
From the opening bell, it was raw emotion. Triple H fought like a man possessed, driven by memory and fury. Every punch, every slam, and every scream was filled with emotion. He was not holding back. He wanted to end the streak and finally put the past behind him. But The Undertaker, the embodiment of endurance, absorbed every blow and kept rising. Like death itself, he refused to be defeated. The longer the match went, the more it felt like you were watching two titans give everything they had left.
Chairs smashed. Tables shattered. And right there, standing outside the ring, was Shawn Michaels as special guest referee, torn between best friend and bitter rival. His every glance spoke of pain, loyalty, and unresolved wounds, and the truth that sometimes, love and hate wear the same face.
This was more than wrestling. It was cinematic. Epic. The kind of match that makes grown men cry, cheer, and fall silent all at once. WrestleMania Rewind: Unfinished Business reminds us that even legends have scars. Even the strongest feel pain. And even in the world of sports entertainment, some battles go beyond belts and titles.
GOtv brings you this unforgettable battle, one that marked the end of an era. WrestleMania Rewind: Unfinished Business airs tonight at 11 PM on Channel 68. Whether you’re watching for the first time or reliving the magic, this is one moment you don’t want to miss.

1xBalance: Update on Project Progress

Changing the game responsibly
In a world where betting has become part of the daily entertainment for millions of people, the question is increasingly relevant:how to play and not lose yourself?
The answer is provided by 1xBalance — an initiative of the 1xBet brand, which actively develops in over 20 African countries. It is not just a promo campaign. It is a culture of responsible gaming that prioritizes players, their choices, and their safety.
1xBalance was created to change the approach to the game. The educational project reminds us that playing is about balance, a responsible attitude, and pleasure.
This initiative focuses not on rules but on people. Through live communication, stories, memes, guides, and live broadcasts, the 1xBet brand helps players monitor not only their bets but also their emotional state, budget, and limits.
A project that focuses on the player
The 1xBalance from 1xBet emphasizes an open conversation with the community, built on three simple values:
- A player has the right to know their limits
- Betting is about the experience, not the profit
- A brand must be responsible to its users
1xBalance is an honest initiative that neither imposes nor teaches. It encourages dialogue, helps to think, and provides simple, understandable tools.
What is important here is not the game itself, but how, when, and why you play.
Numbers with real people behind them
In March-April 2025, 1xBet – 1xBalance demonstrated large-scale engagement:
- 10+ million social media reach
- +300-500 new subscribers in each active region
- 4,000+ participants in contests and challenges
- 201 promo codes drawn among active followers
- Thousands of reactions, comments, saves, stories, and direct messages
These results are not just numbers. They confirm that the audience listens, responds, asks
questions, and engages in critical socio-educational initiatives.
The 1xBet brand calls on everyone interested in the topic:
- Join future activities
- Share your thoughts
- Learn about responsible gaming with 1xBet
Prizes that motivate — not to play more, but to think better
A special feature of the initiative was a new attitude towards the promo activities.
Participants from different countries received promo codes, gadgets (phones, headphones, power banks), branded merchandise, and accessories, not for the sake of involvement in the game, but as gratitude for maintaining the dialogue.
The contests were always simple: “express your opinion”, “reply in stories”, “share your experience”, “be an active participant”.
N No pressure. No complicated rules. Just an honest invitation — to think and share.
When players talk, it’s worth listening
One of the project’s strongest aspects is the feedback. Under each post, story, or broadcast, you will find numerous comments:
- “How to control yourself after a loss?”
- “What to do when you want to win back?”
- “How to play for yourself, not for profit?”
And it was the players who formulated the most precise rules:
“Don’t play back.”
“Play within your budget.”
“A bet is not an income. It’s a moment of emotion, and it should be safe.”
Social responsibility is not words, but actions. What’s next?
1xBalance is part of 1xBet’s broader social policy. Where there is 1xBalance, there is support, not pressure. Respect, not imposition. Dialogue, not monologue.
The project continues to develop. In the coming months, we expect:
- Expanding the range of local collaborations
- Continuing activities in the betting shops: interactives, brochures, posters, and booths
1xBalance is not about how much you play. It’s about how you play.
It is an initiative that proves that responsibility can be simple, understandable, and accessible to everyone.
The 1xBet brand is cultivating a community of conscious players who embrace control, self-respect, and healthy play as the new standard.
