A United States-based startup developing an AI-native accounting and enterprise resource planning platform for finance teams, Rillet, has raised $100 million in Series C funding to push its valuation to $1 billion.

The additional funds were sourced from ICONIQ and existing investors like Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.

The round brought Rillet’s total funding to more than $200 million and was reportedly put together in less than 48 hours, despite the company not actively seeking to raise capital.

The new unicorn status obtained by Rillet highlights the growing investor appetite for AI-native software companies challenging established enterprise platforms.

Since the beginning of 2025, 11 private software startups have crossed the $1 billion valuation threshold to become unicorns, with these newly minted companies collectively valued at $12.9 billion.

Commenting on the latest development, the lead data analyst at BestBrokers, Mr Alan Goldberg, said, “Rillet’s rise to unicorn status is important because it comes as many traditional SaaS companies face falling valuations and growing questions over whether their business models can survive the AI era.

“Investors are betting on AI startups that can convince businesses to ditch the software they already use and switch to entirely new systems, primarily powered by artificial intelligence.”
