Making video calls on WhatsApp, a popular messaging platform owned by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is taking another dimension.
This is because the chief executive of the organisation, Mr Mark Zuckerberg, has announced the addition of a screen share feature on video calls.
In a post on his page on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, Mr Zuckerberg said, “We’re adding the ability to share your screen during a video call on WhatsApp.”
This feature will enable WhatsApp users to share a live view of their screens during the call through their smartphones, tablets or laptops.
This screen-sharing feature can be initiated by clicking on the Share icon and choosing between sharing a specific application or sharing the entire screen.
In addition, Business Post learned that users can enjoy video calls in landscape mode for a wider and more immersive viewing and sharing experience on the phone.
This development has already been applauded by some users of WhatsApp, who commented on the post shared by the Facebook owner.
“That’s great news… Impressive, it’s very useful and has lots of opportunities to make content..it’s more helpful and inspiring…I’m so excited,” a Facebook user commented.
Another user wrote, “Amazing. This is another brilliant idea, sir, from you; you are the best.”
WhatsApp is arguably the most popular messaging platform in the world.
