WhatsApp will soon launch a feature that will give users more control over how much storage it uses on users’ phone and what it’s used for.

This will make it easier for users free up valuable space in just a few taps.

With this new addition to the app, WhatsApp will give users a new dashboard that will give them full control over how the app uses your valuable space.

It’s already possible to clear out files downloaded by WhatsApp, but the update will make it much easier to identify, review and bulk delete the content that’s taking up the most space, rather than purging everything.

It’ll now be possible to delete just large files or those that have been forwarded many times. The user can also choose to sort files in descending order of size, so users of the mobile application can easily see the long videos that are eating up the most space.

The feature will also allow users to see a preview of any files before deciding whether or not to delete.

You’ll also be able to see at a glance how much storage is currently being used, and how much is free, making it easier to decide if it’s time to clear out those downloaded files.

When available, users can navigate to the new tool by going to Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage.

The update will be rolling out gradually over the coming days, so keep an eye out for it appearing on your phone very soon.

Check out the video to see how it will look and work.
