The management of Arik Air led by its Chief Executive Officer, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, has been applauded by the House of Representatives.
This commendation came at the weekend when Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Banking and Currency, Sir Jones Chukwudi Onyereri, led members of his committee to an unscheduled visit to the airline operator in Lagos.
Addressing newsmen after the visit, the lawmaker said he was impressed with what he saw, especially with Arik Air’s spare parts store.
Mr Onyeriri disclosed that the airline has enough spare parts to carry on with seamless and safe operations in the country.
“To the extent of safety, the amount of spares parts in Arik Airline’s store is huge, we are completely impressed. They have brand new tyres, spare engines and that is comforting enough,” the congress man said.
It would be recalled that the committee earlier in February promised Nigerians that they will soon pay a visit to Arik and Aero airlines for on the spot assessment of recent positive developments at the two airlines since they were taken over by Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
The present management of Arik Air assumed office in February of 2017 after the intervention of AMCON in the airline, which prevented its imminent death.
